The police confirmed that the object the alligator was holding was Taylon's body. It was reported that the body was relatively intact and undamaged when found.
Earlier, Taylon's mother, Pashun Jeffrey (20), was found dead with over 100 stab wounds at the apartment where she lived on the afternoon of the 30th of last month. Taylon was reported missing afterward.
The police identified Taylon's father and Jeffrey's boyfriend, Thomas Mosley (21), as the prime suspect in both cases and arrested him on first-degree murder charges. Thomas, who had wounds on his hands and arms, received treatment at a hospital and was then transferred to the Pinellas County Jail.
The police are investigating the cause of Taylon's death and the specific circumstances under which the body was found in the park.
Meanwhile, there are currently 1.3 million alligators living in Florida. Among them, alligators often appear near residential areas, causing casualties. In March, a man in the U.S. had his leg bitten by an alligator when he opened his front door.
In February, an incident occurred where an 80-year-old woman walking her dog was killed by an alligator attack. The woman was reportedly attacked by an alligator that suddenly emerged from the water while she was walking her dog near a pond.
