On the 2nd (local time), an explosion occurred at a cafe in Saint Petersburg, Russia, resulting in at least 16 casualties, including the death of a famous military blogger, according to major foreign media reports.
Vladlen Tatarsky, who died in the explosion, was a well-known Russian military blogger with over 560,000 Telegram followers and a public supporter of the Ukraine war. A video released last year showed him attending a Kremlin event, where he stated, "We will defeat everyone, kill everyone, and loot everyone as necessary," adding, "Everything will go as we want."

The perpetrator behind the explosion has not yet been identified. Local media such as Russia's RIA news agency, citing sources from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, reported that a bomb was hidden inside a statue contained in a gift box received by Tatarsky at the cafe. The cafe is known to be owned by the founder of the Wagner mercenary group.
