Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, attended the Kick-off meeting of the new national industrial complex 'Pan-Government Promotion Support Group' hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport at the Sejong Convention Grand Ballroom at 10 a.m. on the 31st.
At this event, Mayor Hong presented the vision, development strategy, and detailed promotion directions of the 'Changwon Defense and Nuclear Convergence National Industrial Complex 2.0' to relevant central government ministries and public institutions to select the project operator for the Changwon National Industrial Complex 2.0 candidate site, which has been the most prioritized project since the launch of the 8th local government administration.

The city plans to focus its administrative power on swiftly advancing procedures such as selecting the project operator, lifting development restrictions, and approving the industrial complex plan through multi-departmental collaboration for the approximately 1.03 million pyeong (about 3.4 million square meters) site in Buk-myeon, Uichang-gu, and Dong-eup areas, designated for the defense and nuclear industry-specialized Changwon National Industrial Complex 2.0, thereby establishing an innovation growth hub that will firmly support Changwon's future for the next 50 years.
