KB Financial Group Achieves Top Rating in 'MSCI ESG Evaluation'
KB Financial Group announced on the 29th that it has received the highest AAA rating in the '2022 MSCI ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Assessment' conducted by Morgan Stanley Capital International. It is the first domestic financial company to achieve this.
MSCI, a global investment information provider, has been evaluating the ESG management performance of listed companies worldwide since 1999 and publishes the results in seven grades from AAA (highest) to CCC (lowest). The AAA rating is the highest grade awarded only to about the top 6% of the 198 companies evaluated in the banking industry.
In this year's assessment, KB Financial received superior evaluations compared to the global banking industry average in corporate governance, green finance, and customer information protection.
A KB Financial representative stated, "Going forward, KB Financial will continue to practice exemplary ESG management and fulfill its social responsibilities and roles as a global ESG management leader to help the world develop into a 'better place.'"
