Jeonnam Food Export Association Actively Hosts Jeonnam Agricultural and Marine Food Premium Exhibition
After the Pandemic, Full-Scale Promotion and Marketing of Agricultural Specialties to Actively Promote Jeonnam
Eat K-Food, Taste K-Culture!
The Jeonnam Food Export Association (President Han Mun-cheol) announced on the 28th that, with the support of the Jeonnam Provincial Government, it is vigorously holding the Jeonnam Agricultural and Marine Food Premium Exhibition at the H-MART Buena Park store in the United States for 10 days from the 24th of last month to the 2nd of next month to revitalize the offline market, which had temporarily slowed down due to the impact of COVID-19.
H-MART, which first opened in Queens, New York City in 1982, has grown steadily and currently operates 105 distribution networks across the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, and other regions, making it the largest Asian distribution company in the United States.
It is loved not only by Korean students and Korean immigrants in the U.S. but also by local Americans due to the K-Food craze. From Korean rice to almost every food item available in Korea, you can find it here.
This event was held under the slogan "Eat K-Food, Taste K-Culture!" and was conducted in collaboration not only with member companies of the Jeonnam Food Export Association but also with excellent companies in Jeonnam Province that wished to participate in the event.
About 20 companies including Golden Hill, An Bok-ja Hangwa, Miga Food, Goryeo Traditional Food, Daap Maeyul, OMO, Good Farming Association, Sandeul-ae, Gabo Farms, Miseong Young Agricultural Cooperative, Jangheung Shiitake, and others
displayed over 100 items for export at the event venue, with export sales amounting to $250,000 (approximately 300 million KRW).
To enable customers visiting the event to enjoy one-stop shopping, efforts were made to diversify the product lineup, and a ready-to-eat food corner was operated to differentiate this event from previous ones.
Additionally, products from Jeonnam regional food masters such as Han Gi-soon and An Bok-ja were introduced to American consumers, actively promoting the charm of Jeonnam agricultural and marine foods.
During the event, Chae Sang-hyun, Secretary General of the Jeonnam Food Export Association (An Bok-ja Hangwa), traveled to the site to oversee overall matters such as event display and tasting experience events, while also accelerating the promotion of Jeonnam agricultural specialties through consultations with local buyers visiting the venue.
Secretary General Chae expressed his determination, saying, "Since we have prepared thoroughly, we will not let this be a one-time event but will pursue continuous supply through regular store listings."
