The province announced that it has completed the 'Address-Based Mobility Route Information Construction Pilot Project' and that guidance will be available through TMAP navigation from that day.
This project targeted the central commercial areas of Suwon and Seongnam, reflecting information on road sections such as vehicle entrances, entry routes, pedestrian-only roads, and one-way traffic data for a total of 2,347 points?1,478 in Suwon and 836 in Seongnam?into TMAP navigation in cooperation with TMAP Mobility.
Previously, when navigating to destinations in some commercial areas within the province, navigation only guided drivers to the vicinity of buildings, causing significant time consumption when parking vehicles. Now, by providing accurate destination information such as parking lots at each point, travel efficiency is improved, and time and costs required for parking can be reduced.
The province was selected in April 2022 for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s address system advancement project competition. The Ministry plans to expand this project nationwide this year beyond the Suwon and Seongnam areas.
