Gochang-gun Selected for 'Online Direct Transaction-Based Development Support Project'
Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, has been selected as the final project operator for the ‘Online Direct Transaction-Based Promotion Support Project’ consortium consisting of Gochang Nonghyup Cooperative Corporation and Hwangtobaegi Distribution.
According to the county on the 27th, this project, led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, focuses on supporting video equipment, consulting, promotion, customer management, and transportation costs related to the establishment of an ‘Online Direct Transaction Support Center’ to build an online agricultural food direct transaction ecosystem beneficial to both producers and consumers.
A total project cost of 900 million KRW will be invested over three years until 2025, supporting equipment, consulting, promotion, customer management, transportation costs, and more necessary for online direct transactions.
The county has closely responded by anticipating the necessity and selection possibility of the project from the announcement stage.
Based on experience operating the online shopping mall ‘Gochang Market,’ a consortium was formed with Hwangtobaegi Distribution targeting various agricultural specialties handled by Gochang Nonghyup Cooperative Corporation.
After document screening and presentation evaluations, they achieved the great success of being selected as the final project operator.
Song Jin-ui, CEO of Gochang Hwangtobaegi Distribution Co., Ltd., said, “Going forward, Hwangtobaegi Distribution will not remain limited to offline distribution but will leap forward as an agricultural product distribution specialist company combining online and offline channels through the activation of online distribution channels such as Gochang Market and open markets.” He added, “Ultimately, we plan to contribute to increasing the income of Gochang farmers.”
