Naver Webtoon 'My ID is Gangnam Beauty!' to Be Adapted into Thai Drama
Naver Webtoon announced on the 27th that the Thai drama "Beauty Newbie," based on the Korean original webtoon "My ID is Gangnam Beauty," will be aired early next year.
"Beauty Newbie" is a Thai drama based on a webtoon original, not a remake of a Korean drama. It consists of 14 episodes and was produced with the participation of Thailand's leading production company GMMTV. Popular Thai actors such as Baifern Pimchanok and Win Metawin have confirmed their appearances.
"My ID is Gangnam Beauty" was discovered through a contest held by Naver Webtoon and tells the story of a protagonist who was teased for her appearance since childhood and starts college life after plastic surgery, depicting various episodes that occur. It was serialized from April 2016 to December 2017. It has been published in a total of eight languages, including Thai, and has recorded over 1.4 billion global views.
