Consumer Agency Warns to Be Cautious of Overseas Online Stores Selling Fake Slam Dunk Goods
Consumer damage is occurring due to overseas shopping malls selling counterfeit goods of the recently popular animated movie 'Slam Dunk.'
The Korea Consumer Agency announced on the 22nd that four complaints related to cancellations and returns were received last month on the International Transaction Consumer Portal regarding the internet shopping mall with the domain 'inouetake88.com.'
The Consumer Agency explained that consumers purchased items from the shopping mall, recognized them as unlicensed counterfeit products, and requested cancellations and returns, but the seller did not respond. The agency attempted to contact the seller by sending emails requesting fact verification and complaint handling but received no reply.
According to the case of consumer A, the seller's location displayed on the shopping mall was Algeria, the country where the payment was made was France, and the product shipping origin was confirmed to be China. The consumer returned the product to the address listed on the waybill, but it was returned again.

The Consumer Agency advised that before purchasing products, consumers should verify whether the company has an official license and if it is a trustworthy seller. They emphasized caution as goods sold on shopping malls other than official sales sites are highly likely to be counterfeit. Additionally, if payment was made by credit (or debit) card and damages occur such as receiving products that are clearly different from advertisements or not receiving delivery for an extended period, consumers can apply for a 'chargeback service' with the credit card company with supporting evidence.
