COVID-19 New Cases 9,065... About 1,300 Fewer Than Last Week (Update)
As the spread of COVID-19 continues to decline, the number of confirmed cases in the low 9,000s was reported on the 17th.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, there were 9,065 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 30,681,228.
The number of new confirmed cases decreased by 869 compared to the previous day (9,934) and by 1,270 compared to a week earlier on the 10th (10,335).
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized was 140, down by 6 from the previous day. The number of critically ill patients has remained in the 100s for 26 consecutive days as the scale of confirmed cases decreases.
There were 7 new COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the total death toll to 34,155 (fatality rate 0.11%).
