Police Conduct Search and Seizure at Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Office Over Allegations of Bribery
The police have launched a forced investigation into allegations of bribery involving a former executive of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU).
According to a comprehensive report by Asia Economy on the 16th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Violent Crime Investigation Unit began conducting searches around 1 p.m. at the FKTU office located in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, as well as at the residence of Mr. A, the former Senior Vice Chairman of FKTU, in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul.
Mr. A served as the three-term chairman of the National Taxi Labor Union Federation (Jeontak Noryeon) and was the Senior Vice Chairman of FKTU from 2020 until the 28th of last month.

He is suspected of receiving several hundred million won from a construction union member who was expelled from FKTU last year due to a corruption case involving approximately 1 billion won, along with a request to return to the organization.
