Samsung D Foldable OLED Shipments Expected to Exceed 50 Million Units by 2027
UBI Research '2023 Small OLED Display Annual Report'
Samsung Display's foldable OLED (organic light-emitting diode) is expected to exceed 50 million units by 2027.
UBI Research announced on the 8th through the '2023 Small OLED Display Annual Report' that Samsung Display's shipments are projected to grow from 18.9 million units this year at an average annual growth rate of 28.1%, reaching 50.9 million units by 2027.
The report analyzed that Samsung Display's foldable OLED shipments last year were 12.6 million units, accounting for 85.1% of the global foldable OLED shipments last year. Although BOE, TCL CSOT, and Visionox have partially mass-produced foldable OLEDs, Samsung Display was the leading company in the foldable OLED market.
Samsung Display's dominance in the foldable OLED market is expected to continue in the future. UBI Research stated, "It seems difficult for TCL CSOT and Visionox to record annual shipments exceeding 1 million units by 2027," and added, "LG Display's mass production timing for foldable phone panels is uncertain unless customers are secured."
