Korea Publication Culture Industry Promotion Agency to Hold Discussion on 'Directions for Improving the Book Fixed Price System' on the 14th
The Korea Publication Culture Industry Promotion Agency will hold a forum on the theme of "Directions for Improving the Book Fixed Price System" on the 14th at JU, a youth cultural space in Donggyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
The forum is organized as part of a validity review study conducted every three years under Article 27-2 of the "Publication Culture Industry Promotion Act." The results of previous research will be shared with participation from experts and the general public. The event will be broadcast live on the Publication Promotion Agency's YouTube channel.
Baek Won-geun, CEO of the Book and Society Research Institute, will present the main findings of the study conducted to evaluate the impact of the Book Fixed Price System and establish improvement measures. Following this, the discussion will include ▲ (Author) Jeong Woo-young, poet and former Secretary General of the National Korean Literature Museum ▲ (Publishing/Electronic Publishing) Jeong Won-ok, senior research fellow at the Korea Publishing and Reading Policy Research Institute of the Korea Publishers Association, and Park Seong-gyeong, former distribution policy chairman of the Korea Publishers Association ▲ (Bookstores) Lee Jeong-won, vice president of the Korea Federation of Bookstores Associations ▲ (Libraries) Oh Ji-eun, director of Seoul Library and president of the Public Library Council ▲ (Consumers) Jo Yoon-mi, executive director of Future Consumer Action ▲ (Readers) Ahn Chan-su, executive director of the Reading Society and Culture Foundation ▲ (Web Content) Seong Dae-hoon, professor of the Department of Cartoon and Webtoon Content at Korea Video University and director of Webtoon Lab, and Oh Bong-ok, professor of the Department of Webtoon and Web Novel at Seoul Digital University will participate in the discussion.
