Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Launches 'School Zone Children's Traffic Safety' Campaign for New Semester
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 7th that it will conduct a ‘School Zone Children’s Traffic Safety’ campaign to raise awareness of traffic safety in school zones in time for the new semester.
This campaign was prepared to enhance traffic safety awareness among both children and drivers and to encourage active participation.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education is conducting the campaign using the Korean slogan ‘Ganada’ to help everyone easily remember and follow traffic safety rules.
The campaign is structured as an acrostic poem using the first letters of ‘Check before going, Stop starting with me, and Slowly together,’ containing rules applicable equally to children and drivers.
Additionally, the traffic safety rules imply the meaning of ‘basics’ that must be known, similar to ‘123’ or ‘Ganada.’
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education will carry out various online and offline campaigns, including a Naver Happybean campaign, poster distribution to Seoul schools and related organizations, and events through the official SNS of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education.
From the 7th to the 6th of next month, a one-month online campaign titled ‘Protect School Zone Children’s Traffic Safety with Ganada’ will be held on Naver Happybean.
Any Seoul citizen can participate by understanding school zones, checking traffic safety rules for children and drivers in various situations, and leaving comments for a safer school zone. The online page can be accessed directly by searching ‘Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’ on the official website, Naver, or Daum portals.
Furthermore, posters will be distributed to over 1,300 elementary, middle, and high schools in Seoul, affiliated institutions such as libraries and lifelong learning centers, and organizations related to children’s traffic safety to continue the public campaign.
On the official SNS of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, a ‘Hashtag Sharing’ event will be held for about two weeks from the 14th to the 29th to raise awareness and spread traffic safety rules.
To participate, individuals must share the campaign poster posted on SNS (Instagram) on their personal SNS along with the required hashtags.
The required hashtags are #SeoulMetropolitanOfficeofEducation #SchoolZoneChildrenTrafficSafety #GanadaCampaign #CheckBeforeGoing #StopStartingWithMe #SlowlyTogether, among others.
