National Scholarship Student Application Requirements to Exclude 'Academic Performance'... Approved by the State Council
Partial Amendment to the "Regulations on Overseas Study" Passed
From now on, the 'academic performance' requirement will be excluded from the eligibility criteria for the national scholarship student selection exam.
The Ministry of Education announced on the 28th that the partial amendment ordinance of the "Regulations on Overseas Study" containing this content was reviewed and approved at the Cabinet meeting held on the same day.
The national scholarship study abroad system, implemented since 1977, is a program that provides actual airfare and scholarships for up to three years to foster global talents at the national level and to expand overseas study opportunities for socially vulnerable groups.
This amendment was prepared following the suggestion made by the "Regulation Review Task Force (TF)" of the Office for Government Policy Coordination in June last year, which stated that "it is desirable to abolish requirements such as grades in addition to the degree, which is the minimum qualification for applying for the national scholarship student program."
Accordingly, the academic performance requirement of "an average score of 80% or higher throughout the entire school course" will be removed.
