Korea Medical Data Association Holds 2nd President Inauguration Ceremony and New Year Forum
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Yoon Won-seok, Chairman of the Korea Medical Data Association, stated, "We will aim for globalization including Asia through the convergence of medical, bio, and IT sectors."
Chairman Yoon made this remark on the afternoon of the 22nd at the inauguration ceremony of the 2nd chairman and New Year forum held in the main conference room on the 51st floor of Trade Tower in Samseong-dong, Seoul, adding, "We will establish a foundation for collaboration with various companies and institutions, as well as close ties with the government."
Chairman Yoon was elected as the 2nd chairman at the board meeting on December 4 last year. He worked at KOTRA for over 30 years, served as President of Overseas Business at Hancom Group, and held advisory roles on national policies for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

The second part of the event, the New Year forum, featured discussions on understanding the changing external environment this year and corporate response strategies.
Currently, in the global market, the rapid expansion of related market size due to worldwide population aging and increased health demand, as well as market development through medical innovation, are key topics. The Ministry of Health and Welfare has also announced plans to foster the bio-health industry by developing two blockbuster-level new drugs and achieving the world's 5th largest medical device export by 2027, strategically supporting exports.

A representative of the Korea Medical Data Association said, "Through this event, we will focus more on the industrialization research of medical data that integrates domestic medical and IT sectors and on information protection. Based on our extensive experience in various activities, this will be an opportunity for the industry to advance one step further," and predicted, "Starting this year, the government has adopted bio-health as a new growth engine for Korea and will collaborate extensively with the association."
