Gwangju Buk-gu Launches Development of Unique City Brand
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is embarking on the development of a new city brand (BI) to establish urban identity and enhance internal and external recognition.
On the 20th, Buk-gu announced that it has signed a consignment agreement with the Gwangju Design Promotion Agency (Director Song Jinhee) for the development of the city brand and character, officially starting the project.
It was determined that the current Buk-gu symbol mark (CI) alone has limitations in differentiating the image, creating a need for a distinctive city brand.
Accordingly, Buk-gu plans to entrust the overall development to the Gwangju Design Promotion Agency and create a new city brand that embodies the future vision and core values by August of this year.
The city brand development will reflect regional characteristics such as policies, culture, society, and history to secure Buk-gu’s identity, while comprehensively considering successful domestic and international cases and expert opinions.
Additionally, residents’ opinions will be actively collected through idea contests and preference surveys, and a slogan creation platform will be established to enhance scalability and usability.
The completed city brand will be applied across various public administration fields, and a proclamation ceremony will be held to convey Buk-gu’s new image and future vision to its residents.
