Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon met with Catherine Raper, the Australian Ambassador to Korea, on the 13th and posted the following text and photo on his SNS on the 14th.

Governor Kim Dong-yeon recalled on the 14th through his social network service (SNS), "In July 2021, Catherine Raper, the Australian Ambassador to Korea, invited me," adding, "It was just before I entered politics."
He continued, "At that time, we met and exchanged broad opinions on international affairs, and yesterday, meeting again as the Governor of Gyeonggi Province, I felt a renewed sentiment," and introduced, "During this meeting, we discussed various Gyeonggi-Australia economic cooperation areas such as strategic resources including critical minerals, information technology, and the 4th industrial revolution."
In particular, he expressed expectations, saying, "Australia is rich in deposits of key raw materials such as nickel and lithium," and "South Korea is an advanced country in cutting-edge industries like hydrogen vehicles and semiconductors, and through economic exchanges with Australia, we can solidify the foundation to lead future innovative industries such as K-battery, renewable energy, and hydrogen vehicles."
Furthermore, he promised, "Gyeonggi Province will do its best to cooperate with countries around the world for future growth engines."
Earlier, on the afternoon of the 13th, during a meeting with Ambassador Catherine Raper who visited the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, Governor Kim said, "Gyeonggi Province is creating various directions related to carbon neutrality and reorganizing its organization to lead the efforts," adding, "I understand that Australia has achieved many results internationally, including in hydrogen, and I hope we can cooperate and exchange together. I hope this meeting will serve as an opportunity to promote practical cooperation related to carbon neutrality."
