On the 14th, according to a comprehensive report from Asia Economy, the Seoul Seocho Police Station received the case of Justice No, who was accused of obstruction of justice against the judiciary and violation of the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act for public officials at the end of last month, from the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Division (Gongsoocheo) and is currently investigating it.
On December 26 last year, the Korean Pediatric Society filed a complaint with Gongsoocheo against Justice No for obstruction of justice against the judiciary and violation of the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act for public officials, related to the Supreme Court's full bench ruling that acquitted a Korean medicine doctor who used ultrasound equipment. Earlier, on December 22 last year, the Supreme Court ruled that the treatment using ultrasound diagnostic devices by Korean medicine doctors was not illegal.
At the time of the complaint, Im Hyuntaek, president of the Korean Pediatric Society, stated, "Despite performing ultrasound more than 60 times over two years, the Korean medicine doctor failed to detect endometrial cancer, but the first and second trial courts overturned the medical law violation fine and ruled that Korean medicine doctors could also use ultrasound devices," adding, "The court ruled that even though Korean medicine doctors performed countless ultrasounds and failed to detect cancer masses, their use of ultrasound devices does not violate the Medical Service Act."

There is criticism that Justice No, whose husband is a Korean medicine doctor, did not file a recusal request to avoid participating in a case where there was a conflict of interest. According to Article 17 of the Criminal Procedure Act, if a judge is a direct victim of the case or has a familial relationship with the defendant or victim, or has a close relationship with the defendant or victim, the judge must be excluded from the trial. Judges with grounds for disqualification have an obligation to recuse themselves.
