County Office Employees Raise 8 Million Won
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Shinan-gun, Jeollanam-do decided on the 6th to urgently provide relief funds amounting to 21 million KRW to support the rapid recovery of Turkey and Syria, which suffered massive damage from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Jindo.
According to the county on the 13th, a total of 21 million KRW will be provided, including 10,000 USD (13 million KRW) for recovery costs for the prompt restoration of Turkey and Syria, and 8 million KRW raised by county office employees.
The raised funds will be delivered to the Korean Red Cross and are planned to be used for procuring relief supplies for disaster victims in the affected areas and for early recovery efforts.
County Governor Park Woo-ryang said, “We extend our condolences to the people of Turkey and Syria who suffered great damage from the earthquake,” and added, “We hope this will help even a little in the swift recovery of the affected areas.”
