The donation ceremony held at the National Assembly auditorium in Yeouido, Seoul, was attended by Shin Min-sik, Chairman of the Social Contribution Committee of Jaseng Medical Foundation (Director of Jamsil Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital), and Lee Hak-young, President of the Police and Fire Safety Support Association. The donated Jaseng Ssanghwa Tea will be distributed to police officers and firefighters registered with the association who were injured in the line of duty.
Jaseng Medical Foundation is carrying out various social contribution activities to foster a culture of respect for national and independence patriots as well as essential social personnel, and to provide practical assistance. Last month, the foundation provided financial support to honor the dedication of the late Police Lieutenant Yu Jae-guk, who died in the line of duty while searching for a jumper in the Han River, and to help his family become self-reliant. In addition, in collaboration with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, the foundation visits the homes of surviving patriots to provide medical services through the 'Surviving Patriots Korean Medicine Primary Care Doctor' program, and offers scholarships to patriots and their descendants.
The active practice of sharing management by Jaseng Medical Foundation is rooted in the spirit of independence movement of its predecessors. Shin Gwang-ryeol, the father of Dr. Shin Jun-sik, founder of Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital, who was a Korean medicine doctor and independence activist, emphasized the spirit of 'Geuncheuljisim (矜恤之心),' meaning compassion for those in difficult situations. Jaseng Medical Foundation adopts this as its founding and management philosophy and is actively expanding its support targets.
