Ministry of the Interior and Safety Provides Special Local Tax Support of 1.47 Billion KRW for Heavy Snow and Cold Wave Response
Ensuring Safety Including Support for Winter Supplies
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 30th that it will provide a total of 1.47 billion KRW in special grants to local governments to purchase cold-weather supplies and materials necessary for responding to heavy snow and cold waves, as the workload of local governments has increased due to heavy snow and cold waves continuing since mid-January.
The special grants to be provided this time will be used broadly to minimize damage until the remaining winter countermeasure period (March 15), together with the previously allocated heavy snow and cold wave countermeasure funds, including snow removal work, installation and operation of cold wave mitigation facilities, and purchase of cold-weather supplies necessary to ensure safety during ongoing response activities.
