Retired Lieutenant General Gu Hong-mo Appointed as Head of USFK Base Relocation Project Team
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] Gu Hong-mo, a retired Army Major General, has been appointed as the head of the USFK Base Relocation Project Group.
According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 30th, the new commander Gu graduated from the 40th class of the Korea Military Academy in 1984 and has held key positions in both field and policy departments, including Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, Capital Defense Command Commander, Joint Chiefs of Staff Operations Director, and Commander of the 7th Army Division.
The Ministry of National Defense evaluated him as "the right person to successfully complete the USFK base relocation project, which has entered its final stage, due to his outstanding communication skills and strong driving ability."
