"Hot Water Not Coming Out"... 60s Man Arrested for Setting Fire in Rooftop Room
[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] A man in his 60s suspected of setting fire to a rooftop room because hot water was not coming out has been arrested by the police.
On the 26th, Seoul Hyehwa Police Station announced that they had apprehended Mr. A (62) on the previous day on charges of arson of a residential building.
Mr. A is suspected of setting fire to a rooftop room in a multi-family house located in Sungin-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, at around 7:48 p.m. the previous day. Citizens who witnessed the fire reported it to the police and fire department. Mr. A was caught in the act by the police at around 8:05 p.m. on the same day. The fire was extinguished at around 8:10 p.m., and there were no casualties. However, property damage occurred, including the complete destruction of the rooftop room.
Mr. A reportedly told the police, "I set the fire because hot water was not coming out," and "I committed arson because it was cold."
