7 Shot Dead in Western California... "Victims Are Chinese Workers"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] On the afternoon of the 23rd (local time), a man in his 60s opened fire in the western part of California, USA, killing a total of 7 people.
According to foreign media, at around 2:30 PM on the same day, a shooting incident occurred in the outskirts of Half Moon Bay, a city about 48 km south of San Francisco. Shootings occurred consecutively at a mushroom farm in the outskirts and an adjacent transportation company, resulting in 4 and 3 deaths respectively. The victims were reported to be Chinese farm workers.
The suspect, Zhao Chunli (67), who resides in Half Moon Bay, was arrested without resistance in his vehicle parked at the Half Moon Bay police precinct parking lot several hours after the incident. Police believe this crime was committed solely by Zhao Chunli. However, the motive for the crime has not yet been determined.

Meanwhile, this shooting has been recorded as the sixth mass shooting incident in the United States this year. Additionally, this incident occurred less than two days after a shooting in Monterey Park near Los Angeles (LA), where at least 11 people were killed.
