Kim Jun-gi, President of the Korean Curators Association, Appointed Director of Gwangju Museum of Art
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Jun-gi, chairman of the Korea Curators Association, has been appointed as the director of the Gwangju Museum of Art (Open-type Level 4 Local Secretary).
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 20th, the newly appointed director of the city museum will oversee the operation of the museum, including planning and exhibitions to promote art culture, as well as domestic and international exchange and cooperation projects. The term of office is two years.
Director Kim graduated from the Department of Arts at Hongik University and earned a master's degree in arts and a doctorate in art studies from the same university's graduate school.
He has also served as head of curatorial research at the Savina Museum of Contemporary Art, exhibition planning team leader at the Busan Biennale, adjunct professor at Kyung Hee University, director of the Jeju Museum of Art, and head of curatorial research at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, actively working on-site as an exhibition planner and art critic for over 20 years.
