The Gyeonggi Cyber Library analyzed e-book loans in 2022 and announced the top 10 most popular e-books among residents over the past year.
According to the announcement, the first place was taken by Kim Ho-yeon's "The Uncomfortable Convenience Store." Following were ▲ Im Mi-ye's "Dollar Gut Dream Department Store 2" ▲ Hiroshi Ogiwara's "Rumor" ▲ Ellie Griffiths' "Diary of a Stranger" ▲ Brian Hare's "Survival of the Friendliest" ▲ Sandra Goss' "The Power of Description" ▲ Seo Young-seon's "A Day Devoured by Smartphones" ▲ Choi Jong-yeop's "Analects to Read at Fifty" ▲ Kim Ji-soo's "Lee Oryeong's Last Lesson" ▲ Tim Marshall's "Prisoners of Geography" in order.
Additionally, unlimited listening audiobooks and video materials ranked first and second with "The Little Prince" (Saint-Exup?ry, Sound Books) and "Greek and Roman Mythology Heard as Drama" (Editorial Department, Sound Books).
Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Cyber Library had about 68,000 new members last year and currently holds about 21,000 commercial electronic resources.
The total electronic resources used by residents in 2022, including subscription-based e-books, reached 930,000 cases. The most used subject areas were novels (23.6%), business and economy (16.1%), and children’s books (10.5%) in that order.
Compared to the previous year, the business and economy field increased by 1.8%, while the children’s field decreased by 4.5%. The membership ratio by age group was highest among those in their 40s (25.3%) and teenagers (24.3%). Monthly usage rates were highest in January (10.2%), March (8.8%), February (8.7%), and August (8.7%) in that order.
