New COVID-19 Cases at 14,144, Down 5,000 from Last Week... Lowest in Three Months (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Byeon Seon-jin] The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 16th at midnight that 14,144 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed, bringing the total to 29,821,035.
The number of new cases decreased by 4,945 compared to a week ago on the 9th (19,089 cases). This is the lowest figure in 91 days for Monday reports since October 17 last year (10,024 cases).
Among the new cases, 64 were imported cases, down by 40 from the previous day (104 cases).
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized increased by 11 to 510 compared to the previous day.
There were 35 new COVID-19 related deaths reported. The cumulative death toll stands at 32,989, with a fatality rate of 0.11%.
