Gwangju Seo-gu Opens 5th "Smart Library" Branch... Open 24 Hours

On the 12th, Seo-gu announced that it opened the 5th branch of the unmanned book lending and return system, 'Smart Library,' at the Narakeum Gwangju Integrated Government Building in Dongcheon-dong, and began full-scale operation.

This 5th Smart Library branch, promoted as part of the 2022 U-Library System Construction Support Project hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, involved a total project cost of 178 million KRW.

In particular, Sejin Engineering Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Chan-gap) contributed 50 million KRW to Seo-gu for library installation and book purchases, helping to create a cultural space for residents.

The Smart Library operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, allowing users to borrow and return books by themselves at any desired time.

About 350 books, including various new releases and bestsellers, are stocked, and books will be regularly replaced in the future.

Book lending is available to any registered member resident who has signed up on the Seo-gu Integrated Library website, and available books can be searched on the Seo-gu Integrated Library website.

Additionally, through the Smart Library, users can also use the book delivery service to borrow or return books from public libraries (Sangnok Library, Children's Ecology Learning Library, Seo-gu Public Library).

On December 28 last year, Seo-gu signed a business agreement with Narakeum Gwangju Integrated Government Building for the operation of the 5th Smart Library branch, promising mutual cooperation.

A Seo-gu official said, "This year, Seo-gu plans to implement administration that gets one step closer to residents, and in the case of the Smart Library, since anyone can use it anytime and anywhere, we expect it to bring small happiness to all residents."
