[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Since the implementation of the Hometown Love Donation System on January 1st, the stream of donations from those who love Miryang City, Gyeongnam, has been steadily continuing.
Shin Tae-su, head of the Changwon Sales Headquarters at Gyeongnam Bank and a native of Miryang, practiced his love for his hometown by donating 1 million won to the Hometown Love Donation Fund. Shin said, "I thought it was a good opportunity to contribute to the development of Miryang," adding, "I hope it can be used effectively where it is needed."
Besides these major donors, various amounts of donations supporting the development of Miryang have been pouring in from all over the country. In particular, donations of 100,000 won, which is the amount that allows donors to receive the most benefits, account for a large portion.
For the Hometown Love Donation Fund, donations up to 100,000 won are fully tax-deductible, and donors can also receive thank-you gifts equivalent to 30% of the donation amount. In fact, donating 100,000 won results in benefits worth 130% of the donation amount, or 130,000 won.
