Guro-gu Aims to Create 57,400 Jobs Over 4 Years
Guro-gu Establishes Comprehensive Job Policy Plan for the 8th Elected Term
Focused Training of Specialized Talent for ‘Guro, a High-Tech Industrial City with Many Quality Jobs’
Strengthening Job Policy Promotion Activities Targeting Job Seekers Using Mobile Messengers and SNS
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced that it has established a ‘Comprehensive Job Policy Plan for the 8th Elected Term’ aiming to create 57,400 jobs by 2026.
Guro-gu recently disclosed this comprehensive plan on its official website in accordance with the local job target disclosure system.
The local job target disclosure system is a regional employment activation policy under Article 9 of the Employment Policy Act, whereby local government heads present job targets and measures to achieve them to local residents and implement these plans.
This comprehensive plan was formulated through a process of gathering opinions, including a survey on residents’ job policy demands and surveys and interviews with 19 institutions in the G-Valley cooperation network.
The district set four core job-related strategies: ▲Creating stable jobs throughout the life cycle ▲Efficient job creation utilizing employment and startup hubs ▲Creating jobs that open the future of the 4th Industrial Revolution ▲Job creation through strengthening corporate competitiveness.
Through this plan, Guro-gu aims to create 14,200 jobs in 2023, 14,300 in 2024, 14,400 in 2025, and 14,500 in 2026, targeting an employment rate of 68.5%. To achieve this, it will implement 27 major tasks and more than 200 detailed projects annually.
In particular, the district plans to focus on job creation related to the development of a high-tech industrial city.
As part of the 8th elected term’s pledges, Guro-gu is promoting projects such as the ‘Regional Intelligent Innovation Talent Development Project’ in collaboration with local universities to nurture core talents in the 4th Industrial Revolution, and the ‘HiVE Project’ to establish a virtuous cycle linking education, employment, and settlement.
A Guro-gu official stated, “Reflecting the demand of G-Valley, where major local industries are concentrated, we will do our best to train specialized personnel. At the same time, we will strengthen promotion of job policies using mobile messengers, SNS, and other means to ensure job seekers receive necessary information promptly.”
