Seoul Investment Agency Launches Aggressive Investment Attraction in Hong Kong
Global Financial Company Attraction Activities Underway
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Seoul Investment Agency announced on the 10th that it will visit Hong Kong to promote ‘Seoul’ as the next-generation global financial hub to over 130 fintech companies. It will hold an investment attraction event introducing three domestic fintech companies specializing in asset management and blockchain to global investors, while also establishing a ‘Pro-Seoul Investment Network.’
The campaign to promote ‘Next-Generation Global Financial Hub Seoul’ will be held in conjunction with the 16th Asia Financial Forum (AFF) taking place over two days from the 11th to the 12th.
The Asia Financial Forum, co-hosted by the Hong Kong government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), is a gathering of influential global leaders in finance and economics to exchange economic outlook insights and information, and to discover investment opportunities. The Seoul Investment Agency plans to conduct aggressive ‘Seoul sales’ activities targeting companies and investors from various countries participating in the forum.
Notably, as this forum is the first face-to-face event in three years since COVID-19, over 130 fintech startups, including major financial institutions such as HSBC, Bank of China, UBS, as well as domestic companies Winkstone Partners, Prism39, and Play V, will participate.
The Investment Agency will operate the ‘Seoul Investment Agency Promotion Booth’ at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre for two days during the forum, focusing all efforts on promoting ‘Seoul’s financial competitiveness.’
During the forum, the ‘Seoul Investment Agency’ will actively engage in sales by holding one-on-one meetings with global companies visiting Hong Kong to provide information on Seoul’s financial environment and incentive support. Simultaneously, it will collaborate with related organizations based in Hong Kong, such as the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) and various associations, to monitor industry trends and identify the demand for Seoul entry and investment attraction from global companies located in Hong Kong.
On the 13th, the Seoul Investment Agency will host the ‘Seoul Fintech Event’ at the Hong Kong Regal Hotel.
Investors attending the ‘Asia Financial Forum,’ the Hong Kong Fintech Association, fintech companies, and other stakeholders interested in Seoul entry and business will be invited to an investment attraction briefing session featuring three domestic fintech companies specializing in asset management and blockchain.
