Emergency Orders to Fire Department, Police, and Local Governments Regarding Fire Accident
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Lee Sang-min, Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, issued an emergency directive to the fire department, police, local governments, and other related agencies to thoroughly conduct life rescue and search operations related to the fire, and to make every effort to rescue and treat the injured in connection with the fire accident at the officetel parking tower in Busanjin-gu, Busan, which occurred around 6:32 AM on the 9th.
Upon receiving the report of the fire, the fire authorities who responded managed to control the large flames around 7:32 AM, but the fire spread to the neighborhood living facilities next to the parking tower, and firefighting operations are ongoing.
Due to this fire, residents in the officetel and commercial areas were urgently evacuated, and so far, no casualties have been reported. The fire department has issued a Level 2 response and deployed 210 firefighters and 79 fire trucks to suppress the fire. The fire department and police plan to investigate the cause of the fire as soon as the fire is extinguished.
