Self-Employed Person "I Fell While Playing Around... It's Unfair"
Passerby "The Shopping Complex Is Responsible for Not Maintaining in Front of the Store"
A story of a self-employed person who is being asked to compensate hospital bills by a pedestrian who fell while playing in front of the store terrace is heating up online communities.
A, who introduced himself as running a gopchang restaurant, posted a message titled "A customer who fell alone on the terrace in front of the store had surgery" on the self-employed community 'Apeunikka Sajangida' on the 7th. He expressed his frustration, saying that the pedestrian who fell while playing in front of the store is demanding compensation under the name of surgery and treatment costs.

A woman in her 70s, B, fell in front of A's store, and B's daughter-in-law, C, contacted the manager to complain. B was passing by the store terrace with her young grandson when the incident occurred as the grandson was playing on the snow and ice.
B also ran with her grandson D in front of A's store. Shortly after, B slipped and fell, suffering a fracture and underwent surgery at the hospital. This process was fully recorded on the shopping mall's CCTV.
According to A, daughter-in-law C claimed, "The responsibility for not managing in front of the store lies with the store owner. Since children can play, the fact that they were playing is not important," and "The slipperiness is the shopping mall's responsibility." She also warned of legal action.

He added, "I felt the most unfair, and eventually, when the financial aspect was mentioned, I felt bitter."
He pleaded again, saying, "The shopping mall management said they spread calcium chloride, but how could there be no slippery spots at all given the nature of the terrace? Moreover, it was a day off and late at night."
A's post received dozens of comments from fellow business owners who sympathized. Self-employed people who heard the story mostly expressed the opinion that A is not responsible for compensation. Those who defended A mentioned that the CCTV footage clearly showed C and D playing in a dangerous posture on snow and ice, that A's store was closed and it was late at night, and that the shopping mall management took measures such as spreading calcium chloride.
