LG HelloVision 'Hello Issue Talk', Discussing Aging Population and Regional Disappearance
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Soo-yeon] LG HelloVision announced on the 8th that its regionally focused talk program
The program airs three times a week across seven broadcasting regions: the Seoul metropolitan area, Busan, Gangwon, Daegu·Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, Jeolla, and Chungnam. A total of 21 talks are held weekly, and over the past year, the combined local issues covered across all broadcasting regions reached approximately 1,000. Topics ranged from small news such as the achievements of a middle school drone club to crisis measures for local universities, covering political, economic, social, and cultural issues in each episode. The panelists have been diverse, including local government heads, local council members, young farmers, and members of civic groups.
LG HelloVision decided to launch a year-long project this year with set themes to enable deeper and more detailed discussions on
The themes for 2023 are ▲ Preparing for the 100-year lifespan ▲ Preventing regional extinction ▲ Overcoming the low birthrate and population extinction crisis. The aim is to raise awareness of the serious ‘low birthrate and aging population’ challenges facing our regions and to focus on issues such as population and regional extinction to seek balanced regional development and countermeasures against population decline.
To diagnose various issues from multiple perspectives, expert groups in different fields have been formed. Experts in balanced development, elderly welfare, returning to farming and rural living, and urban policy will participate to discuss the three themes in depth. The first episode marking the start of the project will air on the 11th, focusing on ‘Health Tips for the 100-Year Life Era ? Stroke, Dementia, and Dental Care’ for viewers aged 50 to 60. It can be watched every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:50 PM on regional channel 25 and the HelloTV YouTube channel.
