North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong Un handed wristwatches as New Year's gifts to representatives of the Korean Children's Union, and it has been reported that the watches are products from the Japanese Seiko group.
Japanese media recently reported, based on photos released by the Korean Central News Agency, that the watches are products of a Japanese brand. According to Japan's Kyodo News on the 3rd, an analysis of the related photos released by North Korea's Korean Central News Agency estimated that the product is from Seiko's fashion watch brand 'Alba (ALBA)'.

The released photos show wristwatch boxes bearing the logo of Seiko's fashion watch brand 'Alba (ALBA)'. It is presumed that female members received metal wristwatches, while male members received leather wristwatches.
Based on domestic online shopping mall prices, the watches are sold for approximately 100,000 to 150,000 KRW and 50,000 to 100,000 KRW respectively. Judging from the group photo with Chairman Kim, it is estimated that about 5,000 watches were presented to the Children's Union on that day.
The news agency stated, "The representatives of the Children's Union, who participated in this meaningful congress that will be specially noted in the history of the Korean Children's Union, had the honor of taking a commemorative photo with the beloved Father Leader (Kim Jong Un), whom they longed to see even in their dreams, and received warm-hearted gifts, overflowing with endless joy and emotion."
