View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Pohang City has been implementing the Hometown Love Donation System since January 1 of this year to support local finances and welfare through donations, providing tax deduction benefits and return gifts corresponding to a certain percentage of the donation amount.
The "Hometown Love Donation System" allows residents registered outside Pohang City to donate to Pohang City, offering donors benefits such as tax deductions (full deduction up to 100,000 KRW, and 16.5% deduction on the amount exceeding 100,000 KRW) and return gifts (30% of the donation amount). The donations are used for resident welfare and cultural benefits in Pohang City.
Return gifts provided to appreciate the donors include ▲16 types in the agricultural and marine products category such as apples, rice, Korean beef, and Gwamegi ▲3 types in the agricultural and marine processed products category such as Acanthopanax extract, handmade fermented syrup (Aronia and raspberry), and Yeongilman Friend dried squid set ▲2 types in the tourism and service category such as Pohang Love Gift Certificates and Pohang Market coupons, which will be given to donors.
There are two payment methods: online donation through the Hometown Love e-um system and offline donation using Nonghyup bank counters.

A Pohang City official said, "The Hometown Love Donation System, the first step for Pohang's new leap in 2023, was implemented for the first time this year," adding, "We will make every effort to ensure the successful establishment of this system and the widespread expansion of the donation culture."
