Ulsan Office of Education Selected as Excellent Education Office for Local Education Finance Two Years in a Row
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education was selected as an ‘Excellent Office of Education’ for the second consecutive year by receiving perfect scores in 16 out of 25 indicators in the Ministry of Education’s 2022 Local Education Finance Analysis Evaluation.
In the ‘Financial Efficiency’ category, it received high scores for school land purchase costs, the ratio of local government burden contributions, and budget execution rates, while the early execution rate and school accounting carryover and non-usage rate indicators were ranked first nationwide.
In the ‘Financial Accountability’ category, it received perfect scores in resident participation budget operation performance and local education finance information disclosure performance indicators.
Additionally, in the case of improving local education finance management, it was evaluated as an excellent case by receiving 18 out of 20 points in the ‘Enhancing School Accounting Financial Efficiency through Balance of Autonomy and Accountability’ category.
The local education finance analysis is conducted annually by the Ministry of Education targeting 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education to strengthen financial soundness, efficiency, and accountability.

An official from the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education said, “The selection as an excellent office of education is the result of efforts by all staff,” and added, “We will continue to analyze causes and prepare measures for any shortcomings to ensure that education finance is used transparently and efficiently.”
