Law Firm Sejong and Lawyer Kim Yewon Receive 'Lawyer Public Interest Award'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The Korean Bar Association (KBA) announced on the 2nd that the 11th Lawyer Public Interest Award recipients are the law firm Sejong and lawyer Kim Yewon (Judicial Research and Training Institute class of 41).
The Lawyer Public Interest Award is an award established by the KBA to annually select individuals and organizations that have defended human rights and contributed to society, in order to widely publicize their achievements.

Law firm Sejong was recognized for its merit in launching the nonprofit organization 'Nanumgwa Ieum' in 2014, supporting socially vulnerable groups such as North Korean defectors and the underprivileged. Lawyer Kim was highly evaluated for her work as a public interest lawyer over the past 10 years, assisting people with disabilities, children, and victims of sexual violence. She has served as a member of the Ministry of Justice's Disability Discrimination Correction Committee, vice-chairperson of the Seoul Human Rights Commission, and member of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office Human Rights Committee.
