[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Kim Won-kyu, CEO of Ebest Investment & Securities, stated on the 2nd that "despite the difficult business environment, the goal of becoming a 'Top 10 major company' remains unchanged."
In his New Year's message, CEO Kim said, "Contrary to expectations, 2022 was a very challenging year," adding, "With steep interest rate hikes, war, COVID-19, and a real estate market downturn, unexpected difficulties were presented to us as we were heading toward becoming a Top 10 major company at the fastest growth pace."
He continued, "Although 2023, which should have started with hope, is expected to be a tough road, what we must do in such times is to re-examine ourselves to minimize the damage that may come to us and to nurture the sprouts of a leap that will begin again at the end of the dark tunnel," emphasizing this point.
He then said, "I have designated 2023 as 'A New Start! A Year of Change and Innovation for a Rebound,' and I hope Ebest will be the protagonist of that perseverance."
To this end, CEO Kim called for ▲stricter risk management ▲radical remodeling of the business structure ▲strengthening digital capabilities ▲advancement of the operating system ▲self-development and unity.
