Prime Minister Han Deok-su "Will Implement Bold Regulatory Reforms"
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Prime Minister Han Duck-soo stated in his New Year's address on the 31st, "In the new year, we will devote all efforts to the recovery of the people's economy."
Prime Minister Han said, "We will inject new vitality into our economy through active policies and bold regulatory reforms, such as support for small and medium-sized enterprises, small business owners, and stabilization of the real estate market."
He also mentioned that the three major structural reforms in labor, education, and pensions, as well as innovation sectors such as finance, services, and public sectors, will be vigorously pursued. He emphasized, "We will revitalize the economy centered on the private sector to achieve sustainable growth of our economy."
Prime Minister Han stated, "We will eliminate welfare blind spots and strengthen support for vulnerable groups to create a warm society."
Regarding diplomacy, he said, "Based on a strong Korea-US alliance and robust national defense, we will do our best to respond to North Korea's provocations and maintain peace on the Korean Peninsula."
