[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] On the 27th at 2 PM, Busan City will hold a 'Barrier-Free Ramp Donation Ceremony' at Olympic Park (located in Haeundae-gu) in collaboration with Lotte World Adventure Busan.
At the ceremony, Lotte World Adventure Busan will donate a ramp to Busan City, constructed with 10 million KRW raised through the social contribution campaign "Let's Donate While Playing," aimed at improving mobility convenience for wheelchair users and stroller users.
Busan City plans to install the donated ramp as the first barrier-free ramp on the pedestrian path within Olympic Park and will provide free installation of barrier-free ramps at small neighborhood living facilities entrances and parks through a pilot project supporting barrier-free ramp installation.
Lee Seon-ah, Director of the Social Welfare Bureau of Busan City, expressed gratitude to Lotte World Adventure Busan for supporting ramps to enhance convenience for mobility-impaired individuals, stating, "We will do our best to create a barrier-free Busan that citizens can feel, taking advantage of the 2023 World Disabled Persons Conference held in Busan."
Busan City, through a business agreement with the Busan Association of the Physically Disabled (acting president Lee Jae-hyun), will provide free installation and support of ramps at 20 locations including entrances of small neighborhood living facilities (pharmacies, convenience stores, restaurants, etc.) and park walkways in the Haeundae area, where the 2023 World Disabled Persons Busan Conference (scheduled for August 2023 at BEXCO) will be held, from December 2022 to April 2023 as part of the 'Barrier-Free Ramp Installation Support Pilot Project.'
