Emart24 Launches Unique Sweet and Sour 'Pinkberry' with Distinctive Colors
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Emart24 announced on the 27th that it will sell ‘Pinkberry.’ Unlike regular red strawberries, Pinkberry has a pale pink color both inside and out, earning it the nicknames ‘white strawberry’ and ‘pink strawberry,’ and it is gaining popularity as an exotic fruit on social networking services (SNS).
Pinkberry is characterized by less sourness and higher sweetness compared to regular strawberries. It is a new variety that overcomes the drawback of existing white strawberries being easily bruised. Emart24, in partnership with Nonghyup, sells one pack of Pinkberry (450g/15-24 pieces) grown in Hadong, a famous strawberry-producing region, for 16,500 KRW. This is the first time Emart24 is selling Pinkberry in the convenience store industry, and through a prior volume agreement with the strawberry-producing region, they have lowered the price of this premium strawberry, which is usually sold at around 20,000 KRW in the market, to 16,500 KRW.
In addition to Pinkberry, Emart24 is also selling two types of Seolhyang strawberries jointly planned with Nonghyup. Seolhyang strawberries are harvested from farms in Nonsan, Sancheong, and Hadong, major strawberry-producing areas, and are priced at 6,000 KRW and 10,800 KRW respectively.
