Sancheong-gun Opens Specialized Courses for Technology and Certification Acquisition
Creating Opportunities for Military and Civilians to Blossom Their Talents
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun in Gyeongnam is attracting attention by operating the lecture series ‘Sancheong’s Masters’ for residents to develop talents and obtain certifications.
The county has been operating about 130 humanities and liberal arts lectures through lifelong education courses in towns and townships since 2022.
Additionally, new specialized courses that allow residents to acquire skills and certifications have been established, broadening the options for residents to receive education in various fields.
‘Sancheong’s Masters’ is a lifelong education project prepared based on lifelong learning resources such as manpower and space to help residents obtain certifications and acquire skills.
Residents can develop their talents and realize their dreams by obtaining certifications through participation in the ‘Sancheong’s Masters’ program.
Utilizing idle space in Geumseo-myeon, the ‘Barista Level 2 Course’ conducted over 10 sessions from September saw 19 out of 20 participants obtain certifications, showing high achievement.
Also, the ‘Baking Master Certification Course’ using the bakery facilities in Danseong-myeon is actively participated in by 16 people, and a kimchi-making class using cooking facilities in Sindeung-myeon is also popular.
A resident participating in the Baking Master Certification Course said, “It was beneficial to experience baking for the first time through this program,” and added, “I am happy to have meaningfully ended this year.”

A county official said, “We will expand courses that allow certification acquisition and skill development in addition to liberal arts lectures,” and added, “We will actively strive to provide opportunities so that residents have no shortage in developing their talents.”
