Samsung Heavy Industries Wins 2 Trillion KRW Offshore Plant Order... Achieves 107% of This Year's Target

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] Samsung Heavy Industries announced on the 22nd through a public disclosure that it has secured an offshore production facility order from a shipowner in the Asia region.
The contract amount is 1.9611 trillion KRW (approximately 1.5 billion USD), which is 29.6% of last year's sales, and the contract delivery date is scheduled for August 2027.
A Samsung Heavy Industries official explained, "This contract is an offshore project order secured for the first time in three years since the 2019 order of Reliance's 'RUBY FPSO' in India, which will help secure stable offshore work."
Meanwhile, the offshore production facility ordered this time is scheduled to begin construction on January 2, 2023, and will be recorded as a 2023 order performance. With this, Samsung Heavy Industries is expected to continue the trend of order improvement by securing $1.5 billion in orders in advance.

Samsung Heavy Industries recorded a total of 49 vessels and 9.4 billion USD (approximately 11.9746 trillion KRW) in cumulative orders this year. It exceeded the target of 8.8 billion USD by 107%.
