Gurye-gun Produces First Nationally Certified Healing Agriculture Specialist Passer
Representative Kang Seung-ho of 'Becoming One with Jirisan,' the first nationally certified Healing Agriculture Specialist in Gurye-gun
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] The first nationally certified Healing Agriculture Specialist has emerged in Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do, following the second national qualification exam for Healing Agriculture Specialists held this year.
Kang Seung-ho, CEO of 'Becoming One with Jirisan,' who passed the national qualification exam for Healing Agriculture Specialist, completed 142 hours of training at the Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services and successfully passed the qualification exam conducted by the Rural Development Administration.
A Healing Agriculture Specialist is a professional who performs specialized tasks defined by the Presidential Decree, such as developing and implementing healing agriculture programs. According to Article 11, Paragraph 1, they are qualified individuals who provide healing services for psychological, social, and physical health through agricultural activities.
CEO Kang Seung-ho stated, “Gurye-gun possesses various healing resources such as ecological assets like Jirisan and the Seomjin River, national agricultural heritage resources like Sansuyu (Cornus fruit), and other wildflowers. We plan to develop healing programs reflecting the region's characteristics using these resources to create spaces for urban residents to enjoy a nature-friendly life, health, and relaxation.”
Currently, the Becoming One with Jirisan farm operates as a healing farm and healing cafe.
Park Geun-gyu, Director of Gurye Agricultural Technology Center, said, “With the emergence of Healing Agriculture Specialists in Gurye, we expect to respond to the regional extinction crisis through the healing agriculture ecosystem based on Gurye’s pristine resources, and anticipate the creation of healing industries and jobs.”
