National Gwangju Science Museum '2022 Happy Science-mas' Special Event
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The National Gwangju Science Museum announced on the 20th that it will hold the ‘Christmas Special Event 2022 Happy Sciencemas,’ a program that the whole family can participate in together, to celebrate the upcoming Christmas season.
The Christmas special event, held over two days from the 24th to the 25th of this month, will operate 15 programs across three fields including various performances, experiences, and events centered around the indoor areas of the science museum.
Performance programs include Christmas family cinema animation film screenings (24th?25th), yodel song carol performances (24th), and a special Christmas performance (25th), all awaiting visitors.
Experience programs such as making Christmas felt lamps (24th), Christmas keychains (25th), and mini trees using LEDs (24th?25th) will be available. Visitors can also enjoy the educational program ‘I am a Fish Ecology Explorer,’ where they observe creatures in a midwinter ecological pond and create their own fish (24th?25th).
On the 24th, children visitors can get Christmas caricatures, and on the 25th, instant photos with Santa Claus will be available to create memories at the science museum. Additionally, during the event period, a limited number of small gifts will be given on a first-come, first-served basis to child visitors to the science museum and family visitors to the aerospace special exhibition.
Visitors to the science museum during the event period will have the opportunity to be the first to see the aerospace special exhibition ‘Faster, Higher, Farther,’ which opens on the 23rd of this month.
This exhibition allows visitors to see everything about aircraft history and the scientific principles behind it, as well as future flying machines and Korea’s rockets.
It is especially anticipated for its vividly expressed various real models and interactive programs.
On the 24th and 25th, the recently renovated planetarium will be available free of charge for up to 99 people per session (5 sessions per day).
In addition, as a special event, visitors wearing red clothing or Santa costumes during the Christmas period can enter the permanent exhibition hall free of charge. There are also abundant events such as instant family photo shoots and souvenir giveaways upon writing reviews of the special exhibition.
Besides the special event, the National Gwangju Science Museum plans to conduct a warm science sharing event for local welfare facilities in cooperation with Hana Bank.
Also, to improve visitor convenience during the year-end and New Year period, efforts are being accelerated to improve facilities such as introducing an unmanned parking system and upgrading automatic doors.
