Gyeongnam Jeongbodae Military Science Department, First Commissioned Army Officer Graduated
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Dooyul] A student from the Department of Military Science at Gyeongnam Information University (President Kim Daesik) has been finally accepted as a candidate for the 2022 Army Officer Candidate Program.
Until now, the Department of Military Science at Gyeongnam Information University, which did not offer advanced major courses for 3rd and 4th-year students, had produced officers through non-commissioned officers and the Army 3rd Officer Academy. However, last year, the department established an advanced major course for bachelor's degrees and produced its first commissioned officer since the department's inception.
Third-year student Kwon Siyoung from the Department of Military Science said, "I passed the Army non-commissioned officer exam in my first year, but to fulfill my dream of becoming an officer, I enrolled in the newly established advanced major course for bachelor's degrees," adding, "I want to become the best Army officer in Korea with strong leadership and a sense of duty."
