Busan City Hosts Exporters Festival 'Busan Trade Day'... Awardees Achieve Record High Since 2012!
April 20th, 4 PM at Paradise Hotel, Over 240 Attendees Including Mayor Park Hyung-jun
Total 167 Local Export Companies, Presentation and Awarding of Market, Government Honors, and Export Tower
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City will hold the Busan Exporters Festival, the "2022 Busan Trade Day Event," at 4 p.m. on the 20th at the Paradise Hotel.
Despite difficult domestic and international economic conditions such as high inflation, high interest rates, and high exchange rates, Busan's exports recorded solid growth, achieving $14.9 billion in exports as of the end of November, an 11% increase compared to the previous year.
The background of this growth is that Busan entrepreneurs have made strenuous efforts in smartizing key industries, challenging new industries, and pioneering new markets for export diversification, and the city has also promoted various trade policies reflecting the demands of entrepreneurs.
This event was prepared to boost the morale of these Busan exporters and to spread a culture of encouraging exports.
About 240 people, including Mayor Park Hyung-jun, Chairman Lee Nam-gyu of the Busan Business Association, export company representatives, meritorious persons, and officials from export-related organizations, will attend. Mayor Park will present and confer the Busan Export Awards, government awards, and export towers.
A total of 167 Busan exporters will be honored with awards at this ceremony.
▲ The Busan Export Award goes to Yoon Beom-sik, CEO of Inopol ▲ The Busan Export Excellence Awards go to Kim Kwang-pyo, CEO of Taesang; Kim Min-ui, CEO of Namgung Tuna; and Jung Tae-young, CEO of Elion. A total of 10 people, including Yoo Young-ha, Executive Director of Corinox, will receive mayoral commendations as export meritorious persons.
Despite difficult conditions this year, 37 trade professionals who contributed to regional exports will receive government awards, and 116 companies, including Hyundai Global Service, which achieved $500 million in exports, will receive export towers.
This year's export tower awardees are the largest number since 2012, once again proving the strength of Busan's export companies.
Busan Mayor Park Hyung-jun said, "Despite difficult economic conditions such as the global economic downturn, the steady growth of exports in the Busan area is thanks to the relentless spirit of challenge of Busan entrepreneurs. Our city will also strive to respond quickly to the ever-changing trade environment and actively listen to the voices of exporters to reflect them in policies."
