Teen Survivor of Itaewon Disaster Found Dead in Lodging Facility
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A high school student who survived the Itaewon disaster was found dead at a lodging facility.
On the 14th, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced that they are investigating after discovering a teenage boy, identified as A, dead at a lodging facility in Mapo-gu.
The police received a report of A’s disappearance at around 11:40 p.m. on the 12th and, after searching, found A dead at a lodging facility in Mapo-gu at 12:10 a.m. on the 13th, about 30 minutes later.
There were no other guests in the room besides A, and there were no signs of criminal suspicion.
A is known to have survived the Itaewon disaster that occurred on October 29.
A police official stated, "Details are currently under investigation."
